Lady Pigs

Whether they be on the sidelines cheering on the Pigs or sipping a Champa's.  Whether they are washing their beloved's whites or telling them to do their own bloody washing.  The Lady Pigs are as much a part of Pigs CC as the players themselves.

Pigscricket.com has interviewed some of the Lady Pigs about what it is like to live with a Pig:

Christina Clear

To which pig are you married / engaged / going out with / or somewhat associated?

Michael Clear (aka Paddy)

What are your favourite nicknames for your pig?

Spunk, Fox, Honey bear

How do you keep your pig motivated throughout the cricket season?

I keep reminding him of his one and only 6 and keep telling him that I am sure he can do it again.

Do you wash your Piggy’s whites at the end of a hard day on the cricket field?

Yes.  I soak them overnight and then put them in the wash.  I prefer to wash Michael's whites* myself because when he washes them he just throws them in with the normal washing and that grosses me out.

* I question the use of the word 'whites' after a day of cricket.

What should your favourite piggy be doing on Saturday?

Helping me organise our wedding.  Going to see photographers, video-graphers, stationary shops, bombienere shops, suit shops, flowers etc etc etc

Are there any funny or embarrassing stories you would like to share about your loving pig that other people really should know about?

There are too many to write down…  but here is a small one…

As we all know Michael is famous for his love of beer, but I never knew just how much until one night I woke up in the middle of the night just in time to see Michael raise his left hand in the air and declare 'I'll have one!" I thought it had to be a joke so I tried to wake him and talk to him but he was fast asleep.  He can't remember doing it but I will never forget it.

Melonie Bayl-Smith

To which pig are you married / engaged / going out with / or somewhat associated?

Piers – 8 years of marriage (and counting)

What are your favourite nicknames for your pig?

Snozz Bear, Piersy Poo

How do you keep your pig motivated throughout the cricket season?

Remind him that it’s just a game and that the Black Caps selectors weren’t in the crowd today.

Do you wash your Piggy’s whites at the end of a hard day on the cricket field?

Most of the time… but I think he should wash his own grubby “whites” frankly, especially if he wants them done in time for Saturday afternoon

What should your favourite piggy be doing on Saturday?

He should: return DVD’s to the video shop (so as not to be perennially late); come furniture shopping with me; not be crippling our social calendar with endless cricket games…!

Are there any funny or embarrassing stories you would like to share about your loving pig that other people really should know about?

Hmm – none except that you should all be aware that Piers could procrastinate for Australia AND New Zealand, and he also is possibly the most forgetful man on the planet (I’m surprised he knows my name most days of the week…)
