Subject: VALE PIGS ICT (INDOOR CRICKET TEAM)

To celebrate the glory days of the Pigs ICT and in memory of its speedy but painful death beers will be had at the Gordon Club, Level 5, Mandarin Centre, Chatswood tonight at 6.00pm (a short 15 minute train ride from the city). Each of you who has been a member of this fine team did so so well and in a year when so many great sporting teams (eg North Sydney Bears) have met their demise you have all held your heads as esteemed members of a famous cricketing family which has its origins as far back as May of this year.

From the early days of glory until the last torid run was scored and wicket was taken the Pigs ICT was a fine team of supreme and finely tuned athletes at the very top of their game. You should all give yourself a pat on the back.

Anyway, please try and come for a few drinks at 6.00pm or later if you want or earlier if you are a drunk (I will be there at 5.30pm).

If for some lame reason (of which I am getting used to now) you cannot make it Thank you very much for giving up your time, money and skill over the past 6 months to help out and/or play for the Pigs ICT. Thank you to all our supporters for showing up and for those who could not come thank you for reading boring match reports and for being supportive to a bunch of closet alcoholics who used 1 hour of running a maximum distance of 5 meters at any given time (which happened about 10 times a night) as an excuse to attend a pub and drink way too much beer at the conclusion (although granted, it was a good excuse)

Thanks to all the girlfriends and friends and friends that were girls but not girlfriends in that sort of way and friends that were boys but not boyfriends in that sort of way (but not to the girls and boys who did not come because of Melrose Place, Beverley Hills 90210 (the college years) and Party of Five being on Tuesday nights) who made many attendances to a place in the middle of nowhere to watch good (okay maybe not that good) cricket being played and then to sit and pretend to be interested as seven semi alcoholic men (Jeff) tried to suggest that they could actually play the game by providing detailed anaylsis of each bowl bowled and run obtained and then watched these men as they argued that it was an inswinging late cutting reverse swinging leg spinner and not a pie (which invariable it was) and that the partnership would have been a lot better had one not been bowled so many times by a 10 year old one armed frog. Of course, Juliette gets special mention for being there every week and looking the most believable when asked does she enjoy going and saying yes.

Thanks to the Larrikans for being alcoholics and giving us belief and hope and a free beer.

Thanks to all the firsts people and each of you know who you are and I (and we) know that holding that First position will always remain in your heart.

And now, a poem

Thanks for the memories, thanks for the love,

thanks for being beautiful and flying from above

Thanks for the batting with fours and sixes and those little shots that we call flickets

but ease up a bit on the thanks when we say there was too many wickets

Thanks for the bowling, the hattricks and leg spinners

because with wickets we are grinners and grinners are winners.

Thanks for the crackerjack tucker at the Gordon Club

and combined with the beer it made us a bit chub (by)

and Thanks for the beer because without beer there would be no beer and without any beer they would be no beer.

Hopefully the Pigs ICT will resurface later next year but for the moment,

I'm Michael Clear

and Good night
